Inclusive pedagogy: Embracing diversity in a virtual class

This study analysed literature on inclusive pedagogy and its application in a virtual classroom. One of the major consequences Covid 19 Pandemic was sudden paradigm shift from traditional modes delivering instruction to modern technologically compliant such as e- learning multimodal instruction. The issue concern is whether or not different categories learners have their pedagogical needs adequately met researcher carried out review analysis using search engines Google Scholar, Ebsco others. For past few decades there has been great emphasis education. However, preponderance available focuses special with some disability. theories that inform are Howard Gardner’s theory Multiple Intelligences, Fleming Mills’ VARK Universal Design for Learning. findings readings practice revealed class students may be placed into 4 categories. Each these unique characteristics. It only when educators understand each category then they able develop pedagogic strategies optimize category. used an conceptual frame work cycle. framework comprises 3 key phases; Cognitive preparedness, curriculum preparedness classroom understanding learner. As cyclic process continues quality inclusion becomes better refined no learner left behind. recommends strive know learners, deliberately plan diverse finally need engage according uniqueness utilizing variety both lesson delivery assessment learning. These include blended learning, synchronous asynchronous sessions, self-assessments, peer assessments well teacher assessments.
